How do I install the Thinkware M1 on my motorcycle?Updated a year ago

Check out our step-by-step video on how to install the Thinkware M1 Motorsport dash cam.

Tools you will need:

  • Screwdriver
  • Trim tool
  • Circuit tester

Steps

1. Take off the seat cover to gain access to the motorcycle's battery, fuse box, and storage unit.

2. Place the dash cam control module into your motorcycle's storage unit and run the wires to the battery and fuse box.

3. Attach the grounding wire to the battery.

4. Use the circuit tester to locate an "accessory" fuse tap. Make sure you are not attaching the dash cam's ACC wire to any fuses that are crucial to the motorcycle's function. Refer to your motorcycle owner's manual for guidance.

5. Wrap the ACC wire around the fuse tap and place the fuse back into the fuse box.

6. Attach the remote control module on your dashboard. Where you place it is up to you, but you do want it to be in a position that is easy to access when you're riding.

7. Run the cable along the motorcycle's natural curve.

8. The front and rear cameras are typically mounted on the front and back of the motorcycle respectively. However, if there is a preferred mounting spot you'd like to use, as long as the cables can reach, you're all good.

9. Once you've mounted the front and rear cameras, use the trim tool to tuck the cables between the side panels for a clean and safe final look.

10. Hook up the front and rear cameras to the control module using the included cables - and that completes the installation.
