How does Thinkware's Radar interact with my Vehicle's Solar Attenuation Layer?Updated 5 months ago
The solar attenuation layer found on some vehicles (such as the Land Rover Discovery) is designed to reduce heat and UV rays entering the vehicle, but due to the metal oxide coatings, it may interfere with the radar module of the Thinkware U3000.
To avoid potential interference, we recommend mounting the dash cam in an area of the windshield that is less affected by the attenuation layer, such as near the rearview mirror. This section, right underneath the vehicle's dot matrix, is ideal, with the camera lens sticking out the bottom. Testing the radar's performance before finalizing the installation is also advisable.
