My PowerCell 8 battery pack is no longer charging with the Cigarette Lighter AdapterUpdated a day ago

If your BlackboxMyCar PowerCell 8 battery pack is no longer charging via the cigarette lighter adapter, please try the following steps.

Please try charging the battery pack with the hardwire kit if you are proficient enough to do so. If successful, this helps ensure us this is not an issue with the battery, and isolates it to only the cable.

If you are uncomfortable with hardwiring, it is recommended to inspect the Cigarette Lighter Adapter cable for any issues. Follow the instructions to inspect the cable:

  1. Check the metal tip on the end of the cigarette lighter plug by pushing it inward, and ensure it springs in and out with a normal amount of resistance. It should not be stuck in any position, provide only slight resistance, nor should it be loose.
  2. If the metal tip looks fine, please unscrew the highlighted retainer to gain access to the inline fuse inside the plug. Remove the inline fuse from the plug, and ensure it isn't blown. The metal filament, visible through the glass tube of the inline fuse, will be broken into two if blown.

The retainer may be difficult to unscrew if the cigarette lighter adapter has never been opened before. You may need to use a microfibre cloth, rag, or similar tool to provide additional leverage.
