What is the difference between the BlackVue Power Magic Pro and the Power Magic EZ?

To start, both the BlackVue Power Magic Pro and the Power Magic EZ are installation tools for your BlackVue dash cam. You will need one or the two (not both) to supply power to your dash cam from your vehicle's battery.

Please note that BlackVue has discontinued the Power Magic EZ as of March 2020. There are currently no plans from BlackVue to launch a new model of the Power Magic EZ.

The Power Magic EZ is an OBD-II connecting cable that's connected to the vehicle's diagnostics port, and the Power Magic Pro is a hardwiring kit that's hardwired to the vehicle's fusebox.

From an installation standpoint, the Power Magic EZ is an easier plug-and-play method while still be able to achieve parking mode, whereas the Power Magic Pro is a more traditional installation method.

If you are looking for an OBD-powered dash cam, we recommend our Thinkware cameras, which do still have the option of an OBD cable for power.
