Why is my BlackVue Elite dash cam not entering parking mode when connected to a battery pack via the CLA/socket output?Updated 9 days ago

Unlike previous BlackVue dash cams, the Elite Series no longer uses both the G-sensor and ACC signal for parking mode detection simultaneously by default.

Instead, there is now a toggle to enable and disable this functionality. It's called EV Accessory Power and can be found in the Parking Mode Recording settings of your BlackVue Elite dash cam.

If you do not see this setting, please update your firmware.

EV Accessory Power is toggled off by default, in which case your dash cam will rely solely on an ACC signal to switch in and out of parking mode. We recommend leaving it disabled if your dash cam is hardwired, powered by an OBD cable, or connected to a battery pack using a spliced output cable, as your dash cam will no longer enter parking mode and potentially miss important events while you are still driving in traffic jams or long queues.

With EV Accessory Power toggled on, your dash cam will function just like an older model, switching into parking mode after your vehicle has been stationary for 5 minutes, and back out once it starts moving again. We only recommend enabling it if you are upgrading from an older model in an existing setup with a battery pack via the cigarette socket output, and want to avoid extensive rewiring or purchasing a new output cable.
