Why is my BlackVue Elite dash cam not entering parking mode when connected to a battery pack via the CLA/socket output?Updated an hour ago
Unlike all previous BlackVue dash cams, the Elite Series no longer uses the G-sensor for parking mode detection, instead relying solely on an ACC signal to determine when it should enter and exit parking mode, just like a Thinkware dash cam.
Therefore, if you're using it with a battery pack, you will not be able to use the typical cigarette lighter adapter (CLA) and socket output combination to achieve parking mode operation.
If you're using a battery pack other than the BlackVue B-130A, you must use a combination of the BlackVue 3-Wire Hardwiring Kit and the Unspliced Power Output Cable to facilitate proper parking mode operation.
If you are using the B-130A, it comes standard with a spliced output cable (not sold separately), so you can plug and play out of the box.
