Are there any wireless dash cams? I hate all the wires.Updated 43 minutes ago

Many new dash cam users believe connecting the rear camera (and/or other cameras) to the front camera wirelessly should be an option, as they are unwilling to disassemble the interior of their vehicles when installing a 2+ channel system out of fear of damage or warranty issues. Some users also believe battery-operated dash cams should be an option because they don't want to occupy their vehicles' cigarette lighters or USB ports, while also not wanting to connect anything directly to the electrical system (such as tapping into the fuse box).

Unfortunately, there are currently no wireless dash cams on the market. The main reason has to do with latency over a wireless connection; in a 2-channel setup, for example, the rear footage may be out of sync with the front footage, and it may get worse the further the rear camera is from the main unit. This is not an issue with a wired connection as there won't be any latency.

Additionally, many users would face issues if their dash cams were to be fully battery-operated, from users forgetting to charge their dash cams and missing important events, to missing crucial functions that exist when a dashcam is connected to the vehicle. Parking mode is a great example of this.

Using a trim tool during the installation makes this process easy and risk-free if done properly. We have several installation videos available which display this technique.
