My Thinkware dash cam won't power on / turn on. What should I do?Updated 4 hours ago
Is your Thinkware dash cam no longer powering on? If that is the case, this is most likely a power issue. Please try the following steps to fix the problem.
- Please try plugging in the device without the SD Card inserted.
- If your dash cam is connected to a hardwiring cable, OBDII cable, or a battery pack, please check if the dash cam powers on without using the hardwire cable, OBDII cable, or the battery pack. You can do so by using the included 12V cigarette adapter inserted directly into the vehicle's 12V socket. If the dash cam powers on this way, then we can determine the issue is related to the power cable or power source.
- If your dash cam does not power on using a hardwiring cable or OBDII cable but does power on with a cigarette lighter adapter, check that the inline fuses in the cable have not been blown. If blown, please replace with 2A glass fuses.
- If the dash cam does not power on with the 12V cigarette socket, please check if the 2A inline glass fuse in the 12V cigarette adapter is blown - please refer to the image below:
