Do your dash cams allow continuous recording and overwrite the older videos by itself when the storage is full?Updated 2 hours ago
Yes, all of our dash cams do have a feature known as loop recording, so yes, it does automatically delete older videos by itself once the storage runs out. However, our dash cams, especially BlackVue and Thinkware, do have a categorization feature where only the same category of videos can overwrite themselves. Thus, videos that are considered events or recorded during parking mode cannot overwrite each other, nor can they be overwritten by regular driving footage.
That said, when choosing your storage media, whether it's an SD card or a solid-state drive (if the model supports them), we always recommend choosing as large a size as possible so that you can have a longer recording time. The moment your older videos get overwritten (in case you wanted to keep them), that's when your videos will get lost forever.
