How should I partition the memory card in my Thinkware dash cam?Updated 11 hours ago
Partitioning the Memory Card allocates a specific percentage of space for each File Type. This is beneficial to make sure that footage is not corrupted when power is lost during an accident, and also extends the lifespan of the SD Card.
There are 4 different options for Partitioning: Continuous Priority, Incident Priority, Parking Priority, and Manual Priority. Which mode you should choose depends on your purpose for using the Dash Cam.
Continuous Priority - allocates most space to Continuous Recordings
- Continuous Driving 62.5%
- Driving Incident 12%
- Parking Motion Detection/Timelapse 12%
- Parking Incident 5%
- Manual Recording 8.5%
Incident Priority - allocates most space to Incident Recordings
- Continuous Driving 45%
- Driving Incident 21%
- Parking Motion Detection/Timelapse 14%
- Parking Incident 11.5%
- Manual Recording 8.5%
Parking Priority - allocates most space to Parking Mode Recordings
- Continuous Driving 35%
- Driving Incident 10%
- Parking Motion Detection/Timelapse 41.5%
- Parking Incident 5%
- Manual Recording 8.5%
Manual Priority - allocates most space to Manual Recordings
- Continuous Driving 35%
- Driving Incident 15%
- Parking Motion Detection/Timelapse 5%
- Parking Incident 5%
- Manual Recording 40%
