My Thinkware dash cam is displaying the wrong date/time in the video files. What should I do?Updated 6 hours ago

If you are having an issue with your dash cam displaying the wrong date and/or time on the video files:

Please check that the timezone is correct, and re-download the latest version of the Firmware to the camera.

Next, try using a different SD card.

If the issue persists and your dash cam is not GPS-equipped, please ensure the date and/or time is set correctly in the system settings.

If the issue persists and your dash cam is GPS-equipped, please try resetting the GPS in the following way;

  1. Connect to the Thinkware Mobile App
  2. Select Dash Cam Info, then GPS
  3. Tap the Arrow in the top-right corner to reset.

Once you hear "GPS Connected" once again, please check the Live View to see if the Date and/or Time is fixed.

If this does not resolve the issue, please contact us at [email protected]. Alternatively, you can contact Thinkware directly at [email protected].

Lastly, if no troubleshooting can resolve this issue, your RTC battery may have gone bad, unfortunately.

The RTC battery is a small internal component of the dash cam whose sole purpose is to keep accurate track of the date and time. This is why, if you've ever shut down your dash cam, the date and time are still correct once you power the dash cam on again.

Depending on your order, you may or may not be covered under warranty for this. Please contact our support team, provide your order information, and we can happily provide more details.
