Speed is not showing up on the recordings on my BlackVue dash cam. How do I fix it?Updated 2 hours ago

Things to keep in mind:

  • Only the dash cams with built-in GPS or external GPS can display speed on the recordings.
  • Check if the speed unit settings are correctly configured in the dash cam firmware settings.
  • For the built-in GPS models, check if the GPS LED on the dash cam is ON during driving.

If all of the above conditions are met and GPS doesn't work, please retrieve some of the video recordings without the speed stamp, along with their GPS files, and "Config", "System" folders saved in the microSD card, and send them to BlackVue.

To send them the video recordings:

  1. Turn off the dash cam
  2. Take out the SD card
  3. Connect it to your computer using the microSD card reader
  4. Open the microSD card drive (typically named BLACKVUE)
  5. Open the "BlackVue" folder
  6. Zip the "Config" and "System" folders, along with a few clips without the speed stamp, so that you can attach them to the email
  7. Send it to [email protected] and CC us ([email protected]) in the email.
You might not be able to send the recordings via email because of their large size. We recommend uploading them and their GPS files to your online drive (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) and sending the link instead.
