As North America's largest dash cam distributor, we go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Here's how our warranty procedure works. Customer service is our top priority, so when you have an issue, it's our issue too.

Our Warranty Coverage

We provide warranty services and after-sales support only to customers in Canada and the U.S. who purchased directly from us at BlackboxMyCar. We do not manufacture dash cams sold on Amazon or any labelled "Black Box".

For New Products

All dash cams, battery packs, and microSD cards come with a 1-year limited warranty (unless otherwise stated) starting from the delivery date.

BlackVue dash cams from the DR970X Plus onwards have a 2-year limited warranty.


Dash cam accessories have a 6-month limited warranty that covers only manufacturer defects.

We do not cover:

  • Damage caused by accidents, misuse, improper installation, water damage, or theft
  • Any expenses related to removing or reinstalling the product
  • Products that have been altered, have had their serial numbers removed, or were not purchased from BlackboxMyCar
BlackboxMyCar's warranty covers shipping of serviced or replacement items back to the customer in Canada and the US only. Customers outside of Canada and the US are responsible for shipping both ways.


For Outlet items (Refurbished / Open-Box / Clearance)

Our warranty policy for Outlet items is significantly different from that of new products. For more information, please check out our article on our warranty policy for Outlet items.

Defective on Arrival (DOA)

If you run into any issues with your purchase within 7 days of delivery and contact us for a replacement, we will provide you with a prepaid return label so you won't have to pay anything to send the defective unit back.

DOA return labels are only offered for customers in Canada and the US.


Advanced RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization)

Advanced RMA is an option for customers who want to replace their dash cam under warranty without having to be without a dash cam (shipping time back and forth). Customers simply have to pay a deposit for the additional unit, and we will refund the amount as soon as the unit being replaced is sent to us.

Please note that there is a $10 non-refundable service fee for this service unless the unit is defective on arrival (DOA). Please contact our team if you're interested in this service for your dash cam.

We kindly ask that you ship the package out within 30 days of the RMA being initiated, or we may reject your RMA claim.
